In this theme, the social innovation proposal is through the invention of smart electric generator. This innovation came out after observing the night market seller that use diesel or petrol powered generator to generate electricity to be use. Although this is the most common ways of generating electric and also the easier way, this way is actually will generating air pollution through smoke from the generator. This is why I think, this new way of generating and storing the electric is the most efficient way and produce the least pollution among other available option.  The way of generating electric through this smart electric generator is by combining both by using solar panel and also a batteries. This social innovation proposal was came out from the issue of we not often communicate or connect with our older family member such our grandparent, aunty and uncle or other older closed family members. I named this innovation as One Call A Away Project. I plan to do this project at the university campus specifically Sultan Azlan Shah Campus, Proton City because here has the hostel of all four hostel.  The main idea of this One Call Away Project is build a platform where students can call their closed members especially their older family member for free or for very cheap rate. As we all know, as a student every cents spend need to be worth it and not being waste away. The idea for the social innovation in regarding the food and agriculture theme is the used of hydroponic systems as the ways of growing vegetables. Although this technique of growing plants is commonly used and being practice, however in my area which is in my local community. The goals in this innovation is to encourage the use of hydroponic in growing vegetables, promote the 3R ways which is implemented during this social innovation and also to helps people with the lack of spaces in their housing area to be able to start growing their own vegetables or herbs.  The first in promoting this hydroponic systems is first I myself need to know how to setup this systems in order later to teach the villager about it. The social innovation idea that I wanted to propose is called Medicine Return Box. This ideas emerge after seeing lots of people in my village is simply throwing away their unfinished, expired or unused prescribe medicine that they got from the hospital or clinic. In my personal opinion, I think due to their academic qualifications, they did not know or aware on how to safely dispose or discard their medicine correctly instead of just go into the dust bin. Due to this scenarios, the idea of creating a way for the villagers to return back their unused or unfinished medicine was came out. The first steps is to design and build a suitable box. The dimension of this box would copy the dimension of the normal letter box. This size is suitable because it is not too big and too small.  One of my idea regarding the environmental biotechnology issues is to setup or build a program called community biofertilizer project. This project will be involving all the members of my local community in my village. The main goals also to turn the organic kitchen waste produce by the each members of the community into something more beneficial product which is the biofertilizer. The first step to do this program is to create a team to organize this project. This team will directly handle all the activities involve in this project. There will be a few teams that doing a different task or job. I will discuss on this later. This is why the biodiversity is very important to ensure that we can continue going through life without any problems. One of the biodiversity that is important and crucial in our food supply is insects specifically all the bee’s species. This is because, bees is one of the major insects that responsible in pollinating our plants and crops. Without them, our crops could not be pollinated and producing sufficient foods for us.   My social innovation proposal regarding this theme is the usage of banana leaf as a replacement of plastic bags especially non-biodegradable type. This idea emerge after observing the huge number of plastic bags in my house. Moreover, the use of plastic is more prominent in wet market businesses specifically on what I have observe in my hometown.             What I wanted to do is reduce and replace the plastic bags that were used in packing and wrapping of the fresh food products such as vegetables and fruits with more ecofriendly and biodegradable packaging. One of the idea of the packaging is using banana leaf.
